Birth Story of Rachel

OoOoOoOOoOO..........finally, at long last, my bb sister, Rachel has arrived. Her birthdate sooooooo easy to remember - 17 July 2007. When Mummy went to have hospital to have her delivered, the nurse even thot Mummy wanted to purposely have Rachel on tis particular date.
According to the nurse, alot of pple chose tis date to have their bb - be it induced or c-sect. Another 2 popular dates - 07.07.2007 & 20.07.2007. Okay...cut the crap, here's Mummy birth story...

16 July - Mummy went for her check up. The gynae say Mummy's cervix has already opened 4cm with a little bleeding. He wants Mummy to be admitted into the hospital the next day as labor cld be anytime. Mummy asked if she can wait for contractions to begin first anot before comin into the hospital. Gynae say better not as scared wait might nt be in time. Wonder wat the gynae meant???

17 July - Suppose to be at the hospital @ 8am but Mummy "bo chap". Why go so early? Mummy not in any form of pain. So she slowly take her time...bath, pack some last min stuff, ate breakfast & some dilly dallying...haha. Arrived hospital at 9.55am

10.05am - Sent to Delivery Suite - Rm 17 (haha - purrrrrfect - 17 jul rm 17). Mummy undress & lie on the bed, waiting for the doc.

12.20pm - Finally saw the doc. She broke Mummy's water bag to begin labor.

(why wait so long...well, as i hv told u, alot of pple chose tis date to hv their bb, so all the docs engaged in either delivery or operation. Mummy waited till her hair turned white liao)

1.30pm - Mummy started to feel some mild contractions. Ignore as still bearable. Watched HBO movies, together with Daddy. Laugh at the jokes created in the show.

2pm - Contractions continued but still mild & bearable for Mummy. 2.30pm, 3pm, 3.30pm...oopps, contractions gettin intense liao.... the nurse told Mummy if she hv the feelin of wanting to hv her bowels removed, must informed her. Mummy nodded her head, too much pain to answer the nurse.

3.45pm - Mummy screamed, said very painful...cannot tahan....but ignored all pain relief options.. (brave Mummy). The nurse checked Mummy & told her already can see baby head. PUSH! PUSH!

4.05pm - After abt 5 pushes, Rachel emerged. But Mummy kind of worried cos Rachel made no sound. "Dun worry. She will cry soon...." the nurse says. Waaaaaahhhhhh......So lovely! Rachel cried liao.

Nurse say the umbilical cord was wrapped round Rachel's neck once, but loosely. Aiyo....if Mummy's labor prolonged, where will tis umbilical cord go? Around the neck even more & tighter??.... choy choy choy...tis did not happen!

4.30pm - the doc came in, did some stitching up cos Mummy had a minor tear (laceration). All is fine.

5pm - Mummy was wheeled up to her ward - ward 34 bed 25. [ 3425 ]...hehe some 4D number for u...

18 Jul - Mummy was discharged & came home together with Rachel.

Today is the 20 Jul. Rachel's 3rd day home. Mummy hv a CL - confinement lady to helped out.
Very experienced & professional. Took care of Rachel & Mummy very well.

Will posted some fotos of Rachel soon as Daddy took the camera away for his project work. Mummy already demanded to have the camera back, so she can saved all the pics & post them into tis blog to share with everyone.
