Trip to the Farm

Hooray! Another outing. This time round, 小姑 wants to bring us to some farms for a visit. I slept in ah ma's hse the previous night. Rachel & mummy only came down at ard 9am. Anyway, 二姑 was suppose to come & pick us up but she was late.

Gettin ready to go out.
Our first stop: Hay Dairies Goat Farm, off Lim Chu Kang Road. The moment we stepped out of our car, we can smell the strong smell of the goats & its surroundings. Phew! What a smell! But we soon gt used to it.

See the milking process? The tubes are attached to the teats of the goats. Each goat has 2 teats.

Rachel's turn.

Victoria.

4 adts VS 4 kids. Why only can see 3 adts? The other one taking the foto la. Dude!
Due to the H1N1 virus going on, AVA advised against close contact with the animals, therefore no feeding & petting are allowed. Next destination, Jurong Frog Farm, along the same stretch of road.
Jurong Frog Farm.

Pond full of bull frogs. There has to be more than 20 ponds.

A lady doing commentary. How to differentiate a male & a female? Alamak! I forgot! The yellow belly one is the male, i think. Whereas the white coloured belly is the female. Or izit the other way round? Poor memory. Excuse me. :P

Ribbit....

Frogs mating...

C'mon baby! Let's boogie.

2 little ones having their snacks - cheese biscuits & goat milk.
We wanted to visit the cow farm as well but when we drove by, the gates are closed & the area seems deserted & vacant. The grounds do not seem to be in operation. Nobody is about so we left. Mummy suggested D'Krangi Animal Farm Resort since we are ard the area so we head towards our next destination.
We only visited the plantation. Forgotten abt the mini animal farm that mummy has heard abt. The weather was freaking hot & we were perspiring like butter melting under strong heat.
A banana plant.

Chili Padi plant.

Papaya plant.

Papaya plantation .

A whole row of huts. Not for residential purposes but rather, shops selling stuff like prunes, fruits, drinks, etc

Nothing to do. So 二姑丈 suggested riding on a 4 wheel bike. This is something like those rides u need to paddle while on water but in this case, its on land. So we hv 1 adt to each child. 4 bikes in total.

We are off......

Is Rachel driving?

Lionel with 小姑.
Its hard work paddling the bikes, especially when u go up slope. U need more than ur own strength. But of cos we kids enjoy la. The adts are the ones paddling ma. Hehe...
We decided to head for lunch & wondered where to eat. 二姑 suggested Jurong Point. We went to Old Town Cafe & ate noodles, nasi lemak, chicken curry & kaya toast for lunch. Then we shopped ard. Its already 2pm plus. Us kids were all very tired so the adts suggested heading back home.
Next outing TBA. 小姑 mentioned something abt New Water. Is this the same as Marina Water Barrage?

Marina Square

Post dated - 28 Jun 2009 (Sun)

We went to Marina Sq for our weekend dinner & outing cos daddy rcv an sms invitation to attend an investment seminar @ Ritz Carlton Hotel. But by the time we arrived, its already close to 7pm. The sms stated anytime from 11am - 6pm. See, daddy rubber band time.

Anyway, its not much of big deal. And since its an investment seminar, they surely will tok abt hw big deal their investment is all abt, the gains & returns, etc. Company name: Jardine Smith Int'l. ( sounds like sardine)

Since the seminar has closed, we went ahead with our dinner. We ate at the foodcourt. Since Rachel was still sleeping, we took our own sweet time to eat. Daddy then prepared a bowl of rice, mixed with fish & woke Rachel up. She saw what daddy ordered & wants a bite too. (daddy ordered tim sum - yam roll & fried prawn dumpling). She actually finished a whole prawn dumpling by herself.

After dinner, its naturally shopping time. Rachel saw the kiddy ride & asked to ride on it. Its $2 per ride. I shared an 'animal' with Rachel & daddy guided us ard the mall. Its only a short ride though.

We went to KP to shop for Rachel's pressie since her bday is round the corner. But she cant seems to settle on any thing. In the end, we did not buy anything.

So hw did i upload the below pics. I had to do it manually lor. This is an alternative method to post the pics onto the blog.

Rachel's turning 2

Mummy: Rachel will be turning 2 very soon. In fact, its in less than a month's time. Looking back, she has actually endured a few hurtful ( to me) moments in her life.

1) when she was born, she's gt clubbed foot. daily exercises & reviews were neccessary.

2) she suffered from high fever for more than a week & was diagnosed with bad bacteria infection.

3) possibility of seizures which turn out to be negative (tks god) after going thru endless tests like ECG scans & hospitalization

4) fell & gt her bone cracked. luckily, its not a fracture. arm was plastered & slinged. only removed after 1 month

Thru all this, Rachel has been a very brave girl. She's still the happy go lucky one & i'm glad for that.

Note: her hair's gone haywire due to the fan blowing :)

video

She loves reading this book & will read thru it dutifully every night before bed time, unless we are out. Most of the time, she will request for me to flip thru almost every page & going thru with her the activities shown on it.

Graduation cum Year-end Concert

Mummy: Once again, the year end graduation concert will be held on 06 Nov 2009 @ Spring Singapore Auditorium, Bukit Merah Central.

L gave me his consent form to participate in a concert item. Again, the cost per participant is $50 which inc costumes, accessories, food & transportation. Cost for the tickets will be announced at a later date. Practice sessions will be held from July to early Nov.

Last year concert was held @ HDB Hub Auditorium. Even if u are holding a ticket & ur seat # given to u, most of the parents did not sit at their degsinated seats. Everyone cramped up to the front of the stage to get a better view of their kids & took fotos when its their children's performing item. Thus, those seated behind were all blocked.

I was tinking what's the point of holding an admission ticket when nobody bothers to sit still. I hope they will hv a better crowd mgmt this year @ Spring Singapore Auditorium.

"This is the day i gt my cert, i gt my cert, i gt my cert, This is the day i gt my cert, at Yishun Polyclinic" Hahahaha!

Finally, i hv completed all my infanthood vaccinations, from the 1st day that i was born till 05 Jun 2009. Below is the Certificate Of Vaccination i gt from the head nurse @ Yishun Polyclinic. It shows the date & type of vaccination that i gt on each visit.

17 July 2007 - HEPB D1 (Hepatitis B)
18 July 2007 - HEPB D2 (Hepatitis B)
18 July 2007 - BCG D1 (BCG)
24 Oct 2007 - 5 in 1 D1 (DPTa/DPT + Hib + IPV)
29 Nov 2007 - 5 in 1 D2 (DTPa/DPT + Hib + IPV)
29 Dec 2007 - HEXA D3 (DTPa + Hib + HEPB)
18 Oct 2008 - MMR D1 (Measles / Mumps / Rubella)
05 Jun 2009 - 5 in 1 B1 (DTPa/DPT + Hib + IPV)

My next appointment will be only after i turn 3 yrs of age. Mummy will need to call the polyclinic to make appt. Its for my 3 yrs old assessment. Mummy scared wait she miss out some impt assessment, so she clarify with the nurse. The nurse told mummy no more vaccinations or assessment needed until i turn 3 yrs old.

Wondering hw come L doesnt hv this Certificate Of Vaccination. He also completed all required vaccinations ar. But mummy says nvr mind. His health booklet did indicate all required vaccinations & that he went thru all. Sufficient!
