We had another lesson of music today. Again, Rachel was the only student as the other student will only be back next lesson.
We did our practise of our concert item & also the finale which is a medley of Xmas songs. Then we recapped Time Signatures - 2/4 counts, 3/4 counts, etc,
Tempo - Presto: Very fast like an aeroplane , Allegro - quick like a car, Andante - at a walking pace, Adagio - slowly like a cow pulling a cart, Largo - very slow & broad like a tortise.
Dynamics - piano, mezzo piano, forte & mezzo forte.
Music Symbols - Staccato: like a ball bouncing, Slur: like a boy skating, Tie: like twins holding hands & Fermata: like a car stopping at a traffic light.
We did some activities like Time Signatures where Rachel got to listen to the player & paste the correct corresponding stickers. Homework was given too as the above exercises were supposed to be done last week instead.
The above 2 activities were supposed to be done last week, so we did it in class today. Top: Paste the correct stickers to help Santa Claus decorate his Christmas tree. Bottom: Paste the correct stickers on the cart.
These 2 were the homework given for last week. To colour the different notes with a different colour. C - yellow, D - Red, E - Green, F - blue & G - pink.
Then she went on to practice on her piece: " The Muffin Man " & teacher Marcia commented that she did well. But need to practice more to play slightly faster.
Lastly, teacher Marcia informed that there will be 2 rehersals on 11 & 18 Dec respectively at 6pm. The costume for the actual day ( grr...i thought its provided by the school) has to be provided by ourselves instead. White santa hat ( can be purchase from Daiso) & white dress/blouse/pants. Shoes can be in any colour. Just to perform for this concert, i have to buy a white dress for Rachel & it may be the only time she will be wearing it. We dun celebrate Xmas nor is/are there any particular dinner (s) we will be attending where she can put it on frequently.
Guess she will be wearing white for CNY next year too.
