Hospital Bag

Mummy has been packing & unpacking her hospital bag. Looks like there's alot of stuff to bring, but then again, mummy like dunno wat to bring. Daddy even jokingly tell Mummy she packing as if she is goin on a holiday like dat....wa liao...so small bag...pack go where..hehe

Things to pack:

• 1 set of mummy's discharge clothes ( for mummy to wear when discharge from hospital)
• 1 set of bb's discharge clothes (together with mittens, booties, hat & blanket to wrap bb)
• mummy's personal toiletries & personal hygene care stuff, includes: toothbrush & tooth paste, face towel, maternity pads, disposable/normal home wear panties, bra, powder
• camera with extra battery. very important cos want to take fotos of rachel upon delivery. must make a list of wat fotos to take, like the moment rachel comes out from mummy's tummy, rachel's 1st cry (if possible), daddy's cutting of the umbilical cord, rachel doin the neccessary tests like taking weight, rachel all wrapped up warm & cosy.....and also rachel's life while in hospital. camera should work non stop...hohoho
• admission documents
• hp + charger (pack only when goin to hospital - mummy u better remember)
• perhaps a story book to read? to kill time...

Just now mummy brought me over to Great Granny's (Tai Ma) place to take dumplings. She made them by herself every year & distributed to all relatives & friends. Ever since last week, she has made over 100 dumplings and still our relatives say not enuff. So last night, Great Granny made another 100 & called Mummy to go over to collect. i had 1 dumpling for lunch.Yummy! i wanna hv another one for dinner also but Mummy say i cannot eat too much cos its made of glutinous rice & nt gd for my digestion. But hor...i will give Mummy a sweet smile first & then i'm sure she will give me one. Hehe...

There is a legend behind the Dragon Boat Festival or Dumpling Festival:

Duan Wu Jie is on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Lunar calendar (usually June in the calendar we use now). It is a day to remember the poet Qu Yuan, who was a loyal official in the court of the Chu Kingdom in old China. Other officials told the emperor lies about Qu Yuan. The weak emperor believed the evil officials and asked Qu Yuan to leave his court. Over the next 20 years, the Chu kingdom got weaker. Qu Yuan was very sad that his beloved country was controlled by another country, the Qin Kingdom. He decided to end his life by jumping into the river. Fishermen who heard that Qu Yuan drowned himself in the river set sail on boats to look for his body. When they could not find it, they threw rice wrapped in bamboo leaves into the river so that the fish in the river would eat the rice instead of his body. The traditions of dragon boat races and eating rice dumplings on Duan Wu Jie thus began.

A Day At Vivo City - Part 2

A Day At Vivo City - Part 1

Yesterday i spent a day at Vivo City with Mummy & 二 姑 姑 - 锦 娇 姑 姑. Cos Mummy says if we dun go out now, she might not be able to bring me out next mth & August cos giving birth to Rachel & confinement.

It was about 3pm when we are finally able to go cos before tis, it was raining heavily. So Mummy told me to sleep first. But i am so eager to go out; how to sleep la. So Mummy switch on TV for me to watch； 都 没 有 戏 看。

Upon arriving at Vivo City, it was still raining but at least its only a drizzle, so Mummy & 姑 姑 brought me to Food Republic to have a bite first. i am already hungry for my milk. Mummy took the above fotos of me while 姑 姑 went to buy food. See i didnt want to co operate... (the auntie behind me keep staring into the camera...hey Mummy taking fotos of me lah...nt u la...cheez! 厚 脸 皮）！

Disiplinary Actions??

Mummy: Sorry folks. Its been a while since we post but the days hv gone by without much amusement. Well, Lionel has been a super duper notty little dude for tis few days. He likes to run into the Guardian store next to my in laws shop, takes off his shoes & sit down beside the showcase with all the Winnie The Pooh characters. He starts taking the toys out of their "home" & plays with them.

Whenever we find him there, we hv to drag him out forcefully as he does nt wans to leave the toys. He will kick & scream all he can. I hv warned him several times; if he doesnt behave himself, no matter how nicely we tok to him, the cane would be "invited" out for some play.

Well, the cane was being "invited" out twice tis week; Tues & yesterday. Whack!!! The cane landed on his legs with some force, leaving 2 red lines. (i caned twice). Lionel scream loudly & tears begin to flow out of his eyes. He wanted to run to his Ah Ma for comfort but i pulled him back.

"You run to Ah Ma again, i'll whack you again. " He stood there, nt daring to move, still screaming & crying loudly.

I did not allow anyone to come close to comfort him, telling them if they choose to sayang him at this moment, he will nt learn. He will tink so what if Mummy beats me, i still hv someone to sayang me ma.

Well, as the chinese saying goes " da zai er shen, tong zai niang xin" (correct hanyu pinyin???). Now its my turn to wept. My tears begin to flow freely out of my eyes. I felt the pain in my heart when i whack Lionel. (A reminder, we are in the public, in front of my mil shop).

i dropped the cane & sat down, not knowing what to say anymore. i cant even bring myself to look at Lionel, still sobbing but not screaming. (A scene from the olden days chinese movie where the mother beats the children & when they are all in bed, she wepts quietly, asking herself hw life wld be like...blah blah blah).

Ah Ma carried Lionel up, consoled him, telling him: "see tis is wat happens when u are notty, dun listen to ur parents... U wan to be a gd boi anot?" Lionel nods his head. Ah Ma tells him to dry his eyes, go to Mummy & apologise. Lionel ran to me, hugged me & say: Sorry Mummy.

Gosh, after listening to him apologising, i cried even more. Jialat!. My sil passed me some tissues, telling me nt to cry liao. Hubby say to me in a cheeky voice: " My dear Mrs Seah, dry your eyes, we bring boi boi go pasar malam."

Before we left, Ah Ma took some ointment & dab on the red lines caused by the cane. Luckily its only some red marks & not bruises. "Tis will heal within a day, dun worry!" Ah Ma told me.

Sorry for such a long post but i guess all parents felt the same way (wld u?).

My Choo Choo Train

Yesterday has been a day thrown to me with gifts..its not my bday, nor xmas...then wat?!?!

How come i gt so many presents??? Then i found out, this choo choo train was from "三姑姑 " ( 丽锦姑姑) becos she strike 4D. (pssst...she has always been very lucky...her unit no always strike...to those who buy 4D frequently...u will know which no...hahaha).

The Fridge Phonics are from "二姑姑" (锦娇姑姑). She bought it from me, knowing that i will be attending school next year...so she wan me to know my ABCs.

The beach ball (very familiar hor....) was blown up by Daddy. Just playing around.

The Barney plush toy was also bought & given to me from Daddy. U pressed the tummy & the lovable Barney song will be played : "I love you. You love me. We're a happy family. With a great big hug & a kiss from me to you, won't u say u love me too." (sang to the tune of : Tis old man, he played one, he played nick nack on my....." Familiar?!?!

Rachel

Today Mummy went for a check up at KKH. This is a foto of sis growth scan. I can make no heads nor tails where are sister's head, legs or hands are....cannot even see the facial parts....

Rachel is now a weighty 2.1kg. I was born only at 2.5kg. Daddy says maybe Rachel will be even bigger size than me upon birth. Mummy says 2.5kg or 3kg, it doesnt matter. Being healthy is more important.

Mummy is now 33 weeks +5 preggie. In another 4 weeks, Rachel will be full termed. So Mummy will be returning for another check up again next month, and thereafter, every 2 weeks till Rachel is born.

Mummy says:

"Oh dear...Rachel is still in the breech position, meaning still upright. Lionel kor kor, tok to her..."

Lionel says:

"Mei mei, u better be good & turn down soon. Dun be sturborn. i know u still hv the freedom to turn any direction u wan but comes 36 weeks onwards, u better turn down & stay put in that position. If i know u purposely stay in a breech or tranverse position & cause Mummy to hv difficult delivery, i'll spank you properly when u come home. I MEAN IT!"

So pleassssssssssse be a good ger.

Little Footprints School Registration Day!

Today, mummy brought me to Little Footprints for registration. I will begin school next year, attending pre nursery. The environment is very nice and ALOT of games to play. They hv a mini playground with slides & swings, a "cooking area" with stove, oven, pots & pans, a variety of vehicles like cars, motorcycles, bicycles...

While Mummy is doing the registration, i played with the toys myself becos the teacher say the kids that are ard my age are all sleeping. Its nap time! i never once missed Mummy. I know which room she is in, toking to the teacher. Teacher Jolin is very nice. She taught me hw to
play with the "kitchen area", ride the car & climb up the stairs to go on the slides.

(U know why... all the kids sleeping ma...so the teachers are free lor). Teacher Jolin kept me occupied, no wonder i did not missed Mummy, neither did i cry.

I think i'm going to like this school very much. Mummy asked me whtr i like the school anot. I nod my head, telling her next year i go school.

Well, Lionel, hope wat u say is true...dun when the time comes, u refuse to go sch ar...else i faint!

My Younger Days!

Finally, Mummy did a scrapbook for me. She has been sourcing ard for the perfect website and she did it.

Start Learning

Mummy says i will be joining playgroup next year. Its called Little Footprints. There are 2 sessions per day; 0830hrs - 1230hrs OR 1330hrs - 1730hrs; 4 hrs each session. Mummy wants me to join the morning session so that i can have more free time in the afternoon to rest & do my homework.

Mummy has begin to teach me ABC & 123. She also taught me to recognise some words & pictures from flashcards.
