We took a train to Fremantle from Perth Station. Upon alighting, we glance ard the city of Fremantle. It looks deserted at first, just like Perth City. But as we venture further in, the streets became very crowded. Fremantle is the port of Perth with famous monuments like Notre Dame University, WA Maritime Museum, "E" Shed, Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, etc...
This is the Maritime Musuem. We gt the admission at a concession fees of A$5 per adt A$3 per chd. They hv different exhibits such as Tin Canoe to Australia II, Hooked on Fishing, Indian Ocean, Swan River, Cargoes, Naval Defence, Shipwreck Galleries & Submarine Ovens.
Fremantle Market. Selling all sorts from food & veggies, to souvenirs, gifts, toys, clothings. Its is only open on Fris, Sats & Suns.
Towards the end of the day, we all too a rest in a nearby park after shopping.
Next to the Shipwreck Galleries (which we did not visit cos its already closed) is the Challenger Harbour. Here we hv a whole stretch of board walk along the harbour with its yatchs, saling boats & restaurants. Mostly alfresco dining, the main specialty is the Fish & Chips.
2 diff restaurants:
1) Cicerella's Landing - The Original & Still The Best
2) Kailis - Voted The Best Fish n Chips.
So which is better? From the way the crowds march in, both of them can fight. Though we did not hv our dinner there, we can see dat it is very popular. Why didnt we hv our dinner there since its their specialty? Cos prior to dat, we hv already had our tea. There's a DOME cafe & we all plonked down to hv a bite.
