Rachel has been given a list of both English & Chinese spelling words. Till date, she has been tested on 5 different group of words ( one group of words for each week). For Chinese, she has done well so far, getting all words spelled correctly & the strokes of the Chinese characters properly shown.
For English, i was a little disappointed she got a ZERO for her spelling during the 3rd week. I do not know what had happened. We have sat down together & revised thru the words, not 1 day before but at least 3 days in advance & everytime, she was able to spell out the words correctly be it written or verbal.
However on the day itself, her mind went blank & she could not spell out a single word correctly, even if they are only 3 lettered words. She got back her book & showed it to me, in tears. I told her gently but firmly that she has to do better the next round. And she did, for the subsequent 2 sets, she got full marks. I am delighted.
