Wushu Lesson

These photos were taken last Fri, 07 Sep 2012 during their weekly Wushu lessons.

Lionel & the rest of his team mates, all in different ranks having their moves taught by their Shi Xiong.

And these are the ones i took of Rachel ( the one in ponytail) & Alexis since they were paired up for their lesson. Alexis was not very sure of her moves & although Rachel was trying to explain to her & showing her step by step, she was still not sure about it & seems to be staring into space, or rather, distracted by others.

Wushu Test & Grading

05 Aug 2012 (Sun):

Chinese Martial Arts Grading Exam started this afternoon from 130pm. I was not able to witness their grading, thus no video or photos.

Lionel was tested on: 长拳，短拳，长掌，短掌，双拳，双掌 // 打三招之铁桥手 // 基拳第一套.

He passed all & was awarded the Purple Belt ( level 6). Well Done, my prince.

Rachel had begun her White Belt ( level 1 ) lessons some time back & today, she had her grading exam too.

She was tested on: 四平马，拳掌加连打(上)，请功，三角马. She passed all & was awarded the Yellow Belt ( level 2 ). Congratulations, my princess.

Wushu Grading

This is a belated post. The Chinese Martial Arts Grading Exam took place last Sunday, 15 April 2012. This is Lionel's 4th grading exam, of which I'm happy to report he passed. All thanks to his examiner who gave him 3 chances. Lionel has been promoted to " Blue Belt " ( white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, red, brown & black)

Below videos showed Lionel doing his 1st, 2nd & 3rd attempt. They were graded on: 长拳，短拳，长掌，短掌 / 阴掌 / 脱手法（第一到第六试）

Chinese Martial Arts Grading

20 Nov 2011 (Sun):

A back-dated post - 13 Nov 2011 (Sun). Lionel had his chinese martial arts grading at Toa Payoh CC this afternoon. As i was doing some other errands, my sil offered to send Lionel over. As it is, her daughter was also having her grading done. Both of them were in the same level.

Below shown were his results. He passed all stages & was awarded the green belt - level 4.

His grading: 长拳与短拳, 拳掌加连打（全套), 脱手法（第一到四武）- all passed.

31 July 2011 (Sun):

Lionel had his Wushu grading this afternoon. On the paper given, it was indicated as 2pm-3pm but i received a call from my mil @ 1.40pm that his grading will be in 5 mins time.... what... i thought....

I rushed down to the CC but alas, the 1st part of his grading has ended... thus i am only able to show u the 2nd & ending part of his grading..





This wushu master (in white) is very good. He gave instructions on the correct posture & moves & allowed the boys to show the moves again if they did it wrongly the 1st time.

Lionel is the one in yellow belt. They were tested on 插手三节拳，拳掌加连打( 上和 ) & 脱手法( 第一和第二式 ). Dun ask me what moves these names were for... i wldnt know.. hehe

Martial Arts Results

27 Feb 2011 (Sun):

This afternoon @ 1230pm, Lionel had his grading exam @ Chong Pang CC. He was excited & i asked him to show me a few moves he learned & in which he would be graded on. Hmm, looks okay to me except there are no strong & firm movements. Uh oh!

Martial Arts Grading

25 Feb 2011 (Fri):

Just got back his Chinese Martial Arts Student Grading Examination Booklet this evening. Lionel is due to be assess this Sunday for his progress & if pass, will be promoted to level 2.

Wow, i didnt know there is even a name of the school in which Lionel's wushu belongs to. Its called the Wanling Pugilistic Centre (Southern Shaolin).

万宁武道馆（南少林）

For level 1 - white belt, he will be graded on: 四平马，拳掌加连打(上)，请功，三角马. Each student will be allowed 3 attempts on each of the above syllabus & then the final results.

Levels: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, Red, Brown, Junior Black, Junior Black 1, Junior Black 2, Junior Black 3. I will pose the results here after his grading on Sunday. Wish him luck!

24 Sep 2010 (Fri):

Another evening of Lionel's Wushu (chinese martial arts) class. I went to the CC after work in the evening & saw him standing in a line, praticsing along with his peers. And he is also in his uniform - white top & black pants.

In the past few lessons, he always wore his home clothes. Now his coach says that they are ready to wear the uniform. As u can see, he is wearing the white belt. This means level 1. Only when they wear the black belt, this means that he has attained the highest grade in Wushu.

Chinese Martial Arts Class

Lionel begin his martial arts class this evening at Chong Pang CC. When i went over after work, they had already done the warm up exercises & were taking a break.

Rachel (pink top) & Alexis playing. They were not enrol but wanna be part of the excitment as well. Sarah & mil were there too.

Hb & myself were not aware that my sils enrolled Lionel to learn this activity. I only heard that they intend to but no confirmation at all. And because Lionel has a classmate whose mum wanna enrol her son into this curriculum, my sil followed suit. (anyway, i'm not the one paying for it) Wahaha!
