GUG Lesson 1 - Term 1

Hey! Welcome back! Tis my 1st lesson for term 1 @ GUG's. Since i will be reaching 1.5 yrs soon ( in 2 more weeks as a matter of fact), mummy might trsf me to Parents & Tots Class instead. So most prob, i will only be attending tis term & after tis term, i might join the parents & tots class . Or maybe, we will stop for awhile cos mummy's pocket quite tight now ( tis wat she told me but i dunno wat it means)

Anyhow, we learnt the letter A & the # 9. A for ant, Ally Alligator, apple. I gt 2 ants drawn on my hand. For artwork, we were given half an apple each, dipped in colour paint & presses down on a piece of paper. Apple Imprint! I tink someone put the apple into his/her mouth and oh dear oh dear..... quick! spit it out!

Hmm...Amanda says her class also starts @ 4pm but i didnt see her leh... Mummy scan thru the name list attached on the board but also nvr see amanda's name. Amanda! where u la?

Chalet @ Aloha Changi

The long awaited chalet - 02 Jan to 04 Jan 2009. We had booked our chalet at Aloha Changi, off Loyang Ave, near SIA Sports Club.

We only went in on Sat evening. Er Gu & Er Gu Zhang checked in on Fri though. Mummy went in on Sat morning & helped get things prepared. Why i only went in the evenin is becos i am still having throat infection & the adts dun wan me playing & screaming ( knowing us kids - dat's wat we do whenever we see each other) else my infection might get worst. Ah Ma wans me to rest so dat i will be in perfect health for my trip to Aust which is soon. :)

So me & Rachel went in the evening, together with Daddy, Ah Ma, Da Gu & Xiao Gu & Li Wei Gu Gu. We played, ate, drank. There were lots of food - pork cutlet, chix meat, curry chix, fried bee hoon, fishball, sweet potato, etc.... even otah which Daddy bot at the last min cos they claim dat there were nt enuff food to go ard.

Daddy even told Mummy he wanted to go Sheng Siong to buy live fish & "peng kan" over at the chalet but he changed his mind.

Gu Po even joked dat we shd all hv our reunion dinner at the chalet cos the area
is so big - 3 bedrooms, a huge kitchen area & a big living hall. Gu Po says it looks like their old kampong hse, only the kampong hse is much much more bigger. Er Gu says they also hv 8 bedroom unit. If really wan to hv reunion dinner, must take the 8 bedroom one so can house everybody. Haha...like real. How to? Then the praying hw? ( 拜天公) All rushed back to to pray meh? From Changi to Yishun???

01012009 - Our 1st outing of the year. Haha! But its not anywhere special; just some family get together @ Junction 8 Bishan. Daddy bot us for dinner & some jalan jalan there after. We played at the abv kiddy rides for a short while. Daddy donated $2 to start the ride & then we have other kids joining us too.

We went to look at Fragrance (香味)Bak Kwa. 1kg is abt $43 now. Daddy asked if Mummy wanna buy. Mummy says buy a bit to eat jus for fun. Daddy looked at Mummy n say "Siao!" Haha..

Goodbye 2008. Hello 2009!

Lionel: i had 2 great weeks of sch hols with a xmas party celebration on the last day - 23 dec. Mummy bot a present for me for the gift exchange which the teachers say shdnt be anything less than $5. But Mummy where gt so " kiam siap" one? My present to my fren cost abt $15 bucks ok. We bot from Popular last min de. Also we were encouragd to wear white but hor, i where gt white colour clothes de. Haiz...no choice but to get Mummy to buy a set, also at the last min. Mummy says tis to be my xmas pressie lor.

No actual xmas family party cos we dun celebrate lor. In the past years, Pamela grandaunt used to invite us for her xmas party over at her place but in recent years, they hv stopped doing that. Mummy felt dat maybe its becos the kids are all grown up ( youngest already 16 yrs old) so they prefer to celebrate xmas with their own frens rather than own family members. So grandaunt stopped organising parties.

Nothing much to report except i was down with fever, i gt a throat infection, i vomitted like anything & i kenna nose bleeding. Haiz! All this started on Mon when i behave very unusually unusual. I was not like my normal self; I sat on the chair, staring into space. My eyes were droopy & i dun seem to be able to hold my head up. It felt so heavy. Ah Ma asked me if i wanted to sleep but i shook my head slightly. Then she felt my hands and cry out loud for they were really 'hot'.

I was rushed to the doctors immediately where i was diagnoised with fever & throat infection. I was given medication. That very evening, i vomitted non stop. Ah Ma bot me back to the docs again. I was given another kind of medication - anti vomit one. Then last nite, i gt nose bleed. I tot i was having a flu cos i felt something like water flowing out of my nose. Xiao Gu gave a loud cry saying i am having nose bleed. Luckily, its stopped very soon & Mummy gave me the nose drop which was given to Rachel when she kenna the same thing.

Wat a way to send away 2008. Hopefully i can recover soon enuff to welcome 2009 & also sch begins on 02 Jan - Fri.

Rachel: For me also nothing special. I am as my normal self, enjoying myself daily to the fullest. I am gettin more & more "hiao" (vain) cos i like to doll myself up. I will request mummy to pin up my hair. Sometimes i will hv strangers asking mummy if i am a boy or gal. Pls lor! i am wearing pink & i am wearing a dress. Still hv people asking stupid qns. So Mummy pin my hair to make me loook more feminine. If still hv people asking : r u boy boy or gal gal, i will knock his/her head. Hmmp!

I can speak words like: pa-pa, ma-ma, mum-mum, bird, ball, apple, bear.
I look forward to cny cos i will be gg to australia with all my love ones - papa, mummy, lionel, ah ma, yeye, da gu & xiao gu & also gu po. Yeah! I am gg to sit on a real aeroplane ya know? I wonder hw is the feelin like. Hope its nt scary. Lionel hv nvr been onboard an aeroplane before also. So he is also excited.

Oh! Granny just bot us a huge bag of clothings from Bali. Mummy says to lug all tis to Aust. So both Lionel & me will hv more than enuff clothes to wear. Mummy's gonna hv a major headache packing our stuff (giggle).

So here's both of us wishing everyone : A Happy 2009 ahead with many more wonderful memories to dwell in also may good fortune comes to everyone. Huat Ah!

Messing around. Us kids wldnt know how to make tang yuan right?

After reachin home last night, we passed by 五叔公's hse & saw that everyone is gathered inside. Wat happen? Oh...they are all busy 搓汤圆 cos 2moro is 东至.

Celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians, this is so when the sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest.

Traditionally, the Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to get together. One activity that occurs during these get togethers is the making and eating of Tangyuan (湯圓), or balls of glutinuous rice, which symbolize reunion.

Tangyuan are made of glutinuous rice flour and sometimes brightly coloured. The flour balls may be plain or stuffed. They are cooked in a sweet soup or savoury broth with both the ball and the soup/broth served in one bowl.
