31 March 2012 (Sat):
Baking has always been on my " to do " list...... but i am just too plain lazy to attempt so. So i went shopping in a bid to buy the neccessary ingredients - baking flour, eggs, butter, sugar, baking powder, vanilla essense, etc....
But i end up buying the below. Just a need to mix the ready made ingredients together with milk, egg & butter, bake in 180 degrees conventional oven & wella, a cake is done.
But the outcome did not turn out well. Instructions given was to bake under 180 degrees for 40 ~ 45 mins; i followed instructions accordingly. Perhaps next time i should bake 45 mins but under 200 degrees instead or maybe 1 hour under 180 degrees...

I Heart
23 March 2012 (Mon):
Was on my way home & got a call from my little jelly bean. She told me proudly she scored full marks for her English spelling & her teacher drew a heart for her on her hand. Too cute.
A pity the drawing had faded when i got home.

Fever
21 March 2012 (Wed):
At 3.30am, i woke up to a feverish little gal. Fed her paracetomol, took her temperature ~ 38.2 degrees, sponge her for a little while.
Woke up in the morning & she was still feverish. Mil bought her to the doctor's and she was given 2 days of mc.
Rachel recovered on Thurs, 22 March 2012. She would be going to Hortpark with her school mates on Friday & she's looking forward to that.

A little dinner gathering with friends. We went to Millenia Walk's Gourmet Bakery for a simple fare.

A 11m-tall robot balloon sculpture made with 65,000 balloons, this robot is created by 50 balloon artists from Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and will mark an attempt to break the current Guinness World Record for the largest balloon sculpture.
The artists are still busy touching up, ready for the grand opening the next day.

Lok Lok - Food on stick
11 March 2012 (Sun):
Daddy & I went for dinner together along Geylang; which lane i do not remember. But it was just sort of looked, chose & settled there & then. We got no specific place to eat at. " Chuan Chuan Xiang Huo Guo " was the restaurant name.
We saw this restaurant - food on satay stick - what u called " lok lok " - $0.30 for each satay stick. And you can have 2 different type of soup base. We chose Sizchuan Hot & Spicy Soup + Clear Vegetable Soup.
There were not many varieties to choose from & we were not really filled up. And our bill came up to $42.40.
Some of the food we picked.
Clear vegetable soup base.
Frying the spices before adding soup.

Lower Primary School Sports Day.
09 March 2012 (Fri):
To round off the end of Term 1, the school has it annual sports meet this morning. All lower primary students to report to their FT by 0730hrs. There was a slight drizzle and the sports committee decided to have the event in the school hall instead. There was already a tentage set up on the school field, ready for the sports event but was abandoned eventually.
The National Anthem being sang with the lower primary students in the school hall & the upper primary in their individual classroom. All parents were at the foyer. The National Anthem was played thru the PA system & everyone said their pledge.
The event started off with the P2s. There were about 6 different sports events such as the Olympics Touch Relay, Zig Zag Challenger, Mr Bean, Rugby Relay, etc...
Enjoy the short video.
Next highlight of the morning will be the P1s. They have also about 6 different sport items and they competed against other very eagerly.
Here we have Lionel doing his event - The Zig Zag Challenge. They need to run around the cones to the end, turn around & back to their teammates.
Next we have the Parents' Race. Its so nice to see the parents being so sporting & running against each other. Imagine they were running against their class mates or school mates some 20 ~ 30 years ago and now, they are running against the parents of their child's classmates.
Woohoo!! Way to go, parents.
Up next is the Parent & Child Race event. I signed both Lionel & Daddy up. There were a total of seven groups & the father & son team were in group 5. There were about 6 pairs in each group.
After the end of the sports meet, seen here is the school principal giving a short speech & also the prize giving ceremony.
The overall champions were awarded to Primary 1 & Primary 2 Respect. The Parent & Child Race was awarded to Group 5 for 1st place.
The whole event ended at 11am & we wait for another half an hour more to pick Lionel up. The FT, Ms Sathiya, distributed to each student of P1 Respect a medal in honor of 1st place. Here you can see Lionel wearing his medal.
Woohoo! The school holidays are here. Enjoy everyone but do not forget to compete your given holiday assignments.

Crying Over Spilled Milk
06 March 2012 (Tues):
I discovered some spilled milk on the kitchen floor this morning & asked who did it. No one answered. Rachel just came out from the bathroom after brushing her teeth.
I turned to Lionel & asked if he was the one. He looked at me meekly without answering. Tears begin to swell up in his eyes. I have to asked another 3 more times before he admitted but not before telling me he didnt know he had spilled the milk. He only went to put the cup into the basin after finished drinking his milk. I asked him why did he have to lie. He told me he was afraid i would scold him, hence the lie.
I told him if he had told me right from the start, I wouldnt need to be so angry. I was angry that he did not informed me when he spilled the milk. Instead he ran away thinking he can get away with it. I was also angry with him for telling lies.
For his punishment, I told him we may not attend his school sports day on 09 March 2012 afterall. He cried himself to sleep that night.

Cycling
04 March 2012 (Sun):
We went for a twilight cycling along ECP. We had dinner at Mac before embarking on a 2hrs journey, all the way to the jetty & back.
Halfway thru, I lost both Daddy & the kids. Made a call & found out they were watching people practicing on their jet ski at the ski centre.
And where was I? At the jetty of cos. While waiting for them, i enjoyed the breeze & watching people doing their fishing.

Child's Travel Plans
02 March 2012 (Fri):
Lionel got back a form for us to sign regarding our travel plans during the 1 week school holiday. We indicated NIL - we are not going anywhere.
For those children who are travelling, they got to indicate the country they will be going to & the period of travel.
This is good measure taken to ensure a proper record of the student's travelling plans so that in the event of a need, they may be able to retrace the source.

Multiplication Chart & The Library
01 March 2012 (Thurs):
We went to Popular Bookstore & the library & got these.
Multiplication Table which Daddy wants Lionel to begin learning. We wanted to buy the interactive kind but couldnt find any so we make do with this chart & the below DVD.
This is sing-along DVD which teaches you the timetable thru songs but this DVD is in Mandarin though.
Then we went the library & borrowed some books. All books were hand picked by the 2 kids themselves. Daddy was surprised to see that Lionel was able to read these books by himself. I told Daddy that his phonics lessons were not wasted.
