And just for the fun of it, i did a mushroom design using the line camera apps on android. I gave it a title: The Many Faces In A Family. Haha..

Mushrooms Updates - Growth Records

28 July 2012 (Sat):

Started since 23 July 2012 when we first unwrapped the plastic & mist spray it, the mushrooms have since grown & yesterday, it was ready for harvesting. We recorded its growth day by day & was always excited each morning & evening to see the changes

This was taken on day 3 ( 25 July 2012) when we spotted tiny white heads popping out everywhere.

Then on day 4 ( 26 July 2012), more tiny heads & even bigger ones.

Taken in the morning on both of the mushrooms.

This was taken on day 4 ( 26 July 2012) in the evening. Woohoo! The mushrooms are bigger in size.

The other mushroom, also taken in the evening.

The mushrooms grew overnight & we were surprised to see snowy ones. Hehe.

Taken on day 5 ( 27 July 2012) in the morning.

It wont be long before its ready to be harvest.

No doubt! This mushroom is telling us to be taken out of it log, ready to be eaten.

The kids were eager to pluck out the mushrooms, every single one of them. Hah!

Okie Dokie! We plucked, washed, packed & refrigerate it till the next day for lunch.

Both mushrooms got shrink wrapped & we will see them in 10 days time. Here's hoping to another successful cycle.

Mushrooms

24 July 2012 (Tues):

Bought this mushroom log for the kids to watch how mushrooms grow. There are 2 ways to grow these mushrooms & once they are big enough to harvest, they can be part of your lunch or dinner :)

Open method: unwrapped all plastic & mist spray 3 - 5 times a day. Keep in a cool place & not under direct sunlight. Mushrooms will grow everywhere; whereever they like it :P

Constraint method: Only the top cap is open. Plastic is still intact. Mist spray 3 -5 times a day too. Mushrooms will only grow from the top opening.

Both kids chose the open method & they are very excited & eager to see whose mushroom will grow first. As no one is at home during the day, we can only spray once in the morning & once in the evening. If i am hardworking enough, i may wake up in the middle of the night to spray it too...

Got the mushrooms on Sunday, 22 July 2012 morning.

Once the kids are back in the evening, our experiment begins...

Cousin Jia Yan's 1st Birthday

22 July 2012 (Sun):

We celebrated another princess bday this evening. Jia Yan is 1 years old. But as the two sisters' bday are only a month apart, hence their mummy decided to celebrate their bdays together.

We had the celebrations at the common corridor.

Garden By The Bay - Part 2

Continued from part 1, we head over to the Flower Dome next.

Again, there were many types of flowers & this time, different varieties of trees were shown-cased too.

We spent almost half the day there & left the park ard 6pm. And i just got news that some of the family members will be making a trip down the next day.

And the kids were keen to join them as well.....again.

Garden By The Bay - Part 1

14 July 2012 (Sat):

We went to Garden By The Bay. Looking at the directory, there are 2 ways to get there by public transport.

Take the mrt to Marina Bay Station, exit A & take bus service number 400. Alight 4 stops later. Or take the mrt to Bayfront Station, exit B & walked along the underground linkway.

We arrived at Marina Bay Station only to find its raining heavily. The bus stop from the station is not covered & i'm too lazy to put on raincoat for the kids. So what to do but to take the mrt to Bayfront Station instead. Luckily, its only 1 stop away.

Once we walked up from the linkway, the rain has stopped. What wonders! One minute it was raining heavily, the next, it practically stopped.

And yes, looked. You can see MBS behind you. Its linked by a bridge to GBB ( Garden By The Bay)

We walked around the Heritage Gardens & explored the different type of plants.

We purchased tickets for the 2 conservatories @ $20/adt & $12/chd for local citizens. For tourist, its priced at $28/adt & $ 15/chd. They have special rates for senior citizens too.

Inside the Cloud Forest, we spent quite sometime at this man-made waterfall. We loved the strong cool air & the mist the falls created.

** Note: do bring along a jacket or shawl. Its cold inside.

There were many, many, many different varieties of flowers around. They were brought in from around the world.

And the kids couldnt resist taking photos here & there.

We ventured up to the Lost World on the 7th floor & walked along walkways right down to the 1st floor. Its liked walking in the clouds as it was misty everywhere. Light water droplets were sprayed from everywhere.

We came out of Cloud Forest & the kids rushed to take photos with the baby elephants, lions & tigers.

We went for a late lunch & let me tell you, the food at GBB does NOT come cheap. No....

After lunch, it on to the next part of GBB, the Flower Dome but that's for the next post. Will be back.

Ballet

08 July 2012 (Sun):

I mentioned sometime back about Rachel spotting a hew hairdo this time round. Since i wanted her to have her hair kept long, she has had her fringe tied & pinned back plus a ponytail at the back. So during school days & ballet classes, this is how she will look like.

Sometimes, she will just request to have her fringe pinned up on weekends. My mil commented that Rachel looks chubbier (rounder face) with her her hair all tied up. Hehe..
