School Uniform

This is how i will look like in my sch uniform, with the exception of my hair. Mummy will pin my fringe up when i go to sch. Pardon my messy look. :P

Mummy went to school this afternoon to buy me my uniforms & to pay up my sch fees. She also bot an additional set of uniform for Lionel as he seems to have outgrown his current uniforms.

The uniform smallest size is XS. When i put it on, the hem of the skirt js covered my knees. This uniform shd last me a gd 2 years cos i dun tink i will expand in size, only expand in height.

I gt a new water bottle too. In js another 12 days, i will be officially attending Pre Nursery School . Mummy says i must be "kuai kuai", cannot be notty, must listen to teacher, cannot run around, cannot cry, must make friends & be happy. And also remember to tell the teacher if i need to go to the toilet.

Addition & Subtraction

I will be learning the basics of addition & subtraction in K1. Mummy has taught me some basics of doing addition quite some time ago. She taught me to use my fingers to do the counting.

Eg: 2 + 2 =?
I wld put up 2 fingers with my left hand first, then i wld put up another 2 fingers with my right hand. Then i wld count all fingers that are up, and the answer is 4.

Eg: 3 + 2 =?
Same thing. Using my left hand, i will put up 3 fingers, then another 2 fingers with my right hand. Then i wld count them and the answer is 5

Seems pretty simple but Mummy told me not all sums are as simple & straight-forward as these. There are more examples. Mummy used short stories to teach me.

Eg: Daddy has 2 apples. Mummy has 2 apples. How many apples do they have altogether? So how do i count?

Again, i used the fingers on my left hand showing 2 fingers ( daddy has 2 apples). then 2 fingers up on my right hand ( mummy has 2 apples). I counted. 1 2 3 4 .... altogether, they have 4 apples.

Eg: ah ma has 4 oranges. ah gong buy another 2. so how many oranges altogether. i was abit confused here. Why used the word 'another'? Mummy explain to me 'another' also means more = plus = add. So i showed her the counting method.

i showed 4 fingers on one hand & 2 fingers on another hand. i counted. 6 oranges.

The same goes for subtraction, except this time instead of adding, i wld have to minus = take away. Mummy showed me an example.

Eg: 1 have 3 apples. I eat 1 apple. how many do i have? So mummy taught me to show 3 fingers representing 3 apples first. "i eat 1 apple" - how to show? Mummy says to put down 1 finger. so i left with hw many fingers? i counted - 2

Mummy taught me a few times hw to do subtraction. Then she gave me an example & I counted myself.

Eg: I have 5 bananas. Vicky took 2 away. How many do i left? So mummy asked me how to count. First, i showed 5 fingers. ( cos i hv 5 bananas) Then Vicky took 2 away, so i closed 2 fingers & i told mummy i have 3 fingers; 3 bananas i mean, left.

Mummy also gave me the basic counting by asking: 4 - 2 = , 5 - 4 =, 3 - 1 =, 4 - 3 =, etc... I used my fingers to help me & i answered all correctly.

Here's the trick. how to count if the number starts with 6 or 7 or even 8? For 6, i have to show 5 fingers on 1 hand, then another thumb up on the other hand - something like a 'good' sign. I hv to remember that that is the number 6. So if it is addition, i have to use my remaining fingers that are closed to show. If it is subtraction, then i wld have to close the number of fingers accordingly to show.

eg: 6 + 2 =
So 6 fingers up plus another 2 more fingers = 8. Count: 6 , as i count 7, i put up 1 finger, then i count 8 i put up another finger. But its not easy cos i tend to get confused. I hv to remember that i must put up another 2 fingers ( becos plus 2 ma), then i also must know i hv already 6 fingers, so i must count the next number as 7 then 8.

eg: 7-3 =
So to show 7 , 5 fingers on 1 hand, then another 2 fingers on the other hand. Mummy says to use the thumb & index finger - letter L. This will represent 7. So i show 7 fingers, then closed 3 fingers, then count the remaining fngers that are up. = 4. Again i will get confused. Cos again i hv to remember i am showing 7 fingers, so for me to count backwards, 6.. 5.. 4 , i tend to mess up. i will count quietly 1..2 ..3 ..4 to tell myself what number comes next so that i can count backwards. Sometimes instead of saying 6..5..4, i will go 8..9..10 etc... but closing 1 finger as i count. Haha!

Then Mummy will say stop...i am counting the wrong way. Then we will start again. Mummy says the sch teacher will teach us more. Mummy wants me to know as least the basic so that i wont get confused when teh sch teacher teaches me.

Singapore Changi Airport - Terminal 3

Mummy & I had some quality mother-daughter-bonding time today @ Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3. I wanted to go to the zoo but mummy says zoo admission is very expensive, so she suggested we go see aeroplanes at the airport. So i say ok, we take aeroplane to the zoo. Mummy laughed.

We took bus 858. I fell asleep within 15 mins on board the bus & was still sleeping when we arrived at the terminal. Mummy bot me to the kids' corner at the basement of Terminal 3 where there is a TV showing cartoon network. Mummy laid me on the carpet to sleep while she watch cartoon.

I woke up at 12.15pm & we laze ard together for a little while. We went to the foodcourt for our lunch. Mummy shared with me a wok of seafood mui fan. After lunch, we proceeded to explore T3, starting from the departure hall. I saw aeroplanes taking off & landing, police & cisco guards patrolling, armed with rifles, musical show, kids playground & bouncing castle.

I did not go up on the bouncing castle becos i was under the age requirement but Mummy's fren whose daughter was 5 years old went up. But the sign indicated min age is 8 yrs....

We spent abt 3.5 hrs at the airport & went back home ard 3pm.

Foam Play

Yeah! Daddy came home early & brought us out on a typical Sunday afternoon, 06 Dec 2009. Daddy went to attend a seminar at Regent Hotel, thus we all followed. After the seminar, we went for dinner at Tanglin Mall. Mummy remembered some years back, there were foam playing & bubbles blowing at the entrance of Tanglin Mall. Daddy says not sure if now still have. Nevertheless, we all went to have a look.

Decent fotos taken at Regent Hotel & at the entrance of Tanglin Mall.

Getting Wet & Wild.
Initially, Daddy did not allow us to play but we pleaded & pleaded, so Daddy relented. I took off my shirt & Rachel took off her dress & we went wild & crazy.Mummy followed us ard in order to capture some fotos of us & was ankle deep in the foam.
Then all of a suden, it started to "snow". Light foam floated all ard us, making it look like Singapore is snowing. Cars passing by stopped by the roadside, children walking past yelled in excitment. Some of the kids came prepared by wearing rain coats or ponchos. Everyone was soaking in the foams ard their feet & snow falling above us. Soon, we were all wet from head to toe.
We played for about 45mins then Daddy pulled us aside to dry us off. Goodness! Daddy exclaimed. "How to wiped dry?" Mummy used wet tissues to wipe off the foam on our face & hair & used our clothes to rub down. Then we put on a new set of clothing. Mummy always packed additional clothings whenever we go for outings.
Once home, both of us hit the bathroom, had a good bath, dried off, drank our milk & fell asleep.

MacRitchie Reservoir

This is a back dated post , arrowed to sometime back in Nov 2009. Didnt realised i had these fotos taken till i took out the camera yesterday. Opps! :p

This was js another weekend outing with nature, together with Sarah, Amos, Vicky & Alexis. It was on one of those lazy morning that Sarah called me & asked if we like to go to the reservoir. Obviously, the kids wld love it.

We parked our car @ the entrance of St. Theresa's Home & walked thru a path leading to the reservoir. There were alot of monkeys all around & we stopped to look at them. Most importantly, do not feed them.

Come Vicky, let me teach you.

Enjoying the breeze. And eating some snacks at the same time.
We saw all sorts of flora & fauna, ermm, not really fauna la but small creatures like squirrels, monkeys, spiders, tortises even ducks. I showed the kids on the diff kind of plants that i knew of. :P ( very minimal)

Tooth adoption by the tooth fairy

I am in K1 WEF today. Our school wans us all to get used to our new classroom environment & teachers before the actual start of the term next year. And what's a better way to welcome my promotion................... but to have my front tooth taken away by the tooth fairy.

And all becos of 1 stupid fall, my tooth got loosen & threaten to drop. Mummy says to let it drop naturally but due to some bleeding this morning, i had my tooth extracted immediately to prevent infection of the gums.

I wonder if there is anyone out there who dropped their baby tooth as early as me? :3)
